Intended Audience
This module is intended for faculty, staff, administrators, or other institutional stakeholders who:

1) are already involved in assessment efforts; and/or
2) are charged with training or educating their peers and colleagues about assessment.

 Objectives
Upon completion of this module, participants will be able to:

  • Articulate how assessment initiatives fit into a broader strategic plan at an institution
  • Recognize best practices for evaluating institutional-level assessment practices
  • Identify common obstacles to developing sustainable assessment practices
  • Ask questions at the department, program, and institutional-levels to identify obstacles that need to be addressed in order to create sustainable assessment
  • Review current assessment practices at their institution
  • Assemble an inventory of current assessment practices at their institution at the department, program, and institutional-levels
  • Evaluate the sustainability of current assessment initiatives at their institution
  • Recommend changes, if needed, to improve the sustainability of current assessment practices at their institution
  • Create a plan for implementing new sustainable assessment initiatives at the course, program and institutional levels
  • Articulate individual guiding principles for assessment
